At Southgate Animal Clinic, we feel that it is important to provide quality care to our patients in a timely manner. In recent months, our surgery and appointment schedules have been booked out several weeks in advance. This means that our patients are waiting longer than we would like to receive medical care. Due to the high demand for appointments, Southgate Animal Clinic has instituted a new “no show”/cancellation policy and fee. Clients who miss their scheduled appointments are effectively taking our time away from other patients who have medical needs.
Starting in 2022, any client who fails to come in for a scheduled appointment or cancels their appointment with less than 4 hours’ notice will be billed $75, this is the cost of the missed appointment. Any new client and clients with a history of missing scheduled appointments (more than 2) will be required to pre-pay the $75 exam fee. This deposit will be applied to the exam invoice at the time of the visit or surrendered if the appointment is missed or cancelled with less than 4 hours notice.
In addition, Southgate Animal Clinic now requires a deposit for any scheduled surgical procedures at the time of booking. The deposit amount is 50% of the estimated cost of the surgery. This deposit is refundable only if the surgery appointment is cancelled or rescheduled with at least 72 hours’ notice.
